Back in January, I reported about the Aphrodite Massager, nicknamed “the sure thing” as seen on the Oprah Winfrey show with Dr. Laura Bergman. Just the endorsement of this vibrator by Oprah, in what has been called “the Oprah effect” and how it helped one woman overcome her orgasm obstacles (she climaxed for the first time in years) sent sales skyrocketing, and the sex toy sold out in less than two hours on every major sex store online.
Well, the Berman Center Aphrodite Massager is still sold out almost everywhere you look, but my good friends at Vibrator.com who sell many popular sex toys have them in stock. I was lucky enough to get one of these coveted vibrators to test out and see if it is as good as Dr. Berman says.
I have the look-a-like Aphrodite that I recently reviewed on Viviane’s Sex Carnival [my review]. And, while they are very similar, there are a few differences. The Aphrodite is a bit longer, heavier and more powerful than its counterpart. It is a rechargeable vibe which I love because it is environmentally friendly. It features two speeds, the lowest one with the soothing, warming power of Infra-red heat.
This massager is actually perfect for muscle massage. It really does sooth sore achy muscles and helps removes naughty kinks. As a vulva and clitoral stimulator, it works well too. I really liked the three interchangeable silicone heads. One is pointed like a nipple and perfect for clitoral stimulation. Another is bumpy and works nicely for overall vulva massage and clitoral together. The third is smooth and I liked this one best for massaging my muscles.
While this massager may not be as powerful as the Hitachi (and for some women that is a good thing), it has a lot more power that small clitoral stimulators. The charge lasts an hour which is long enough to massage aching muscles or give you a pleasurable orgasm.
I really enjoyed this traditional vibrator and will be keeping it in my toy box next to my Hitachi, for when I want a more soothing, subtler, sensual climatic experience. The “sure thing”? I don’t know, but it “sure” works.
